We endeavour to protect copyright on behalf of our authors and ourselves and we ask you to respect copyright when using our material. Please be aware that there may be fees involved when material held under copyright is reproduced or translated.

The Rights Department at Blackwell Publishing, Oxford, handles permissions, translation rights and general copyright enquiries for books, journals and software published by Blackwell Publishing and the Blackwell Publishing imprints of Blackwell Publishers, Blackwell Science, Iowa State Press, Blackwell Futura and Blackwell BMJ.

Books

If you have a translation or permissions request for a Blackwell Publishing book, and/or the Blackwell Publishing imprints of Blackwell Publishers, Blackwell Science, Iowa State Press and Futura Publishing, please e-mail your request to booksrights@oxon.blackwellpublishing.com, supplying as much detail as possible.

Journals

If you have a translation or permissions request for a Blackwell Publishing journal, please contact our Permissions Team at journalsrights@oxon.blackwellpublishing.com, supplying as much information as possible.

Alternatively, for some of our titles you may use the Copyright Clearance Center’s Rightslink® service.

With Copyright Clearance Center’s Rightslink® service it’s faster and easier than ever before to secure permission for material from Blackwell’s list of journals to be republished in a book, brochure/pamphlet, CD-Rom/DVD, journal/magazine, newsletter, newspaper, in a coursepack, in an email, or on an intranet or internet site. 

Simply visit: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com and locate your desired content.

  • Click on Order Permissions at the top of the article’s abstract or in the article’s full text to open the following page:        
  • Select the way you would like to reuse the content
  • Create an account if you haven't already
  • Accept the terms and conditions and you're done

Photocopying

Teaching institutions with a current paid subscription to a journal may make multiple copies of individual articles for teaching purposes without charge, provided such copies are not resold.

In all other cases, permission should be obtained from a reproduction rights organisation (see below) or directly from the Publisher.

Permission to photocopy varies by territory.
